The coin’s reverse depicts a dingo pup set against a background of Banksia, Sturt’s Desert Peas and foliage. The design includes the dingo’s insect friend, a butterfly, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
Australian Legal Tender
Struck from aluminium bronze, each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
The coin’s obverse portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2011 year-date.
Official Australia Post Stamp
The $1.60 stamp features a delightful baby dingo and is postmarked for the first day of issue. In addition, the envelope is endorsed with Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity and official number.
